 Tarab Tulku Rinpoche XI. (1934-2004) was a highly educated Tibetan Lama with a Lharampa Geshe degree from Tibet. Rinpoche came to the West already in the 60's, and his work culminated in "Unity in Duality", which was highly estimated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who officially proclaimed that Rinpoche's work is very
important for our time, and Rinpoche's early passing is therefore a great loss for all of us. The exceptional material, which Tarab Rinpoche has made available for us, are based on the Sutras and the Tantras from where Tarab Rinpoche has extracted the universalities - whereby Rinpoche has managed to carry this ancient wisdom far beyond any religious and cultural boundary.
Lene Handberg, to whom Tarab Rinpoche has entrusted his teachings and given the responsibility to carry on the Unity in Duality Education, has been late Tarab Tulku Rinpoche's assistant for 15 years and helped Rinpoche in developing the presentation of the Ancient Inner Science in the form of Unity in Duality. She has been teaching at the U.D. Education for the last 10 years.
Tarab Tulku Rinpoche founded the first Tarab Institute in Denmark in 1991. Later Rinpoche also founded institutes in Brussels, Tartu, Helsinki, Paris, Hamburg/Munich, Stockholm, and London. In 2006 the Tarab Institute International has been founded as an umbrella organization for the Tarab Institutes and Tarab Ling.
The aims of the Tarab Institutes are:
1) To make available courses, education and research in Ancient Inner Science of Mind and Phenomena, as presented in Unity and Duality by late Ven. Tarab Tulku Rinpoche XI, together with Unity in Duality Personal Development as well as Spiritual and Psychotherapeutic Application;
2) Comparative studies of the Ancient Inner Science and Modern Science;
3) Comparative studies of Unity in Duality Psychotherapeutic Application and other Psychotherapeutic Approaches;
4) Comparative studies of Unity in Duality Spiritual Application and other Spiritual Approaches;
5) Publishing of Literature and arranging of Courses, Education and Conferences in concerning the points above.
Education in Unity in Duality is at the present going on in France, Germany, and India, and will start in Slovakia June 2008. Curricula are to be downloaded under "U.D. Education".
